Oreka Godis is a descendant of the Otaro and Ekarabome Royal Dynasty of Ogori, Kogi State, Nigeria. Born to a father who served in the Nigerian military and a mother who worked as a nurse in England and the United States of America, Oreka grew up as a bit of a nomad, living in various parts of Nigeria and England.

From her early days, Oreka stood out as a talented child. At school, she was class captain, social prefect, an active member of her schools’ track-and-field team, represented (and won) with her school’s debate team, sat on the Student Union Council Boards during her A’Levels and was elected Afro-Caribbean President at Kings College London -where she graduated with a Clinical Sciences BSc (Hons) degree.

Oreka is very active with a great thirst for life and no aversion to expressing herself creatively. She used to sing and write songs which, she performed in front crowds on tours with the church as well as her school choir. As much as she loves to entertain people, she is no stranger to working under pressure. She comes with previous experience working for niche groups such as the English House of Lords (on the reform of the House of Lords) and The Bank of New York Mellon’s CDO team.

Oreka relocated to Nigeria in 2009 to work for The Beat 99.9FM where she co-anchored the biggest breakfast show in Lagos, Nigeria. During her breakfast show, Oreka successfully executed entertaining and informative live radio shows covering politics, entertainment, sports and world news. She hosted ‘Rookies and Dons’ – a weekly British Council program on UK education and lifestyle. Notable guests on the breakfast show included a host of Nigerian artistes, corporate bodies, and international acts such as Hakeem Kae Kazim, Isha Sesay, R.Kelly, Sean Paul, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Shondrella Avery.
