On Scalp Exfoliation

Some people do theirs with conditioner, some use a lot of oil, some use brown sugar, some only watch it from afar and some advise against it altogether. 

I first read about exfoliation on Roshini's blog and though I've only tried it once, I can't say that I noticed anything amazing happen afterwards. Maybe I need to try a Castile soap free concoction? Other scalp scrub related posts by Roshini here and here.
